British boxer Anthony Joshua Released from Hospital in Lagos Following Fatal Road Accident

Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, officials in Lagos confirmed on Wednesday evening. The athlete was part of a serious road collision near Lagos on December 29th, a devastating event that claimed the lives of two of his team members.

Recovering from Minor Injuries

The boxer had been under observation while recovering from minor injuries, his management team confirmed on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement on social media that Joshua was declared medically stable to leave and heal privately.

“Joshua and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two friends who passed away as they were being prepared for repatriation,” the commissioner stated.

A Tribute to the Fallen

The two men who died were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, a fitness coach, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. Omotoso added that the champion was filled with sorrow and full of emotions over the tragic loss of his two dear friends.”

His release from the hospital follows the global fight fans offered sympathy for the star in the wake of the terrible crash.
