The Manager's Stance on The Scottish Club

The Ipswich boss referred to the Glasgow giants as "a really big football club" but emphasized he is "in the middle" of a "extensive rebuilding" with Ipswich Town.

The mid-thirties took charge of Ipswich in 2021 and led them to the English top flight with back-to-back promotions, but they managed only a handful of victories last season as they were demoted back to the second division and they presently occupy 12th in England's second tier.

"There have been such discussions," the English capital native former Irish young player said when asked about being on the candidate list.

"It's not something I have given any thought to, or where any portion of my concentration is this week.

"I have a special job here at a remarkable team. And we're at a crucial phase of the season. Anything outside of that hasn't touched my radar."

Reports indicate that McKenna would be willing to talk to Celtic given his childhood support.

"During youth, we all have our preferences," he said when questioned about these. "It's unlikely all people has to publicly and announce what they were, but of course it's a massive sports organization."

The coach agreed to a new four-year contract in 2024 and was asked about his reported £5m release clause.

"In every manager's contract, there are things," he responded. "I'm unaware what mine are and, were I informed, I wouldn't tell you regardless!

"I tackle this role like I'll be Town's coach forever. I understand that's not invariably going to be the case, but I'll always give maximum effort as while I remain in position."

Bellamy's Situation

Bellamy played for the Hoops on loan from Newcastle United in the mid-2000s, but the former Wales striker is inclined to complete the current World Cup qualification, a position that would practically eliminate the mid-forties from immediately taking the Glasgow position.

The Welsh squad are presently in third place in their qualifying group behind group toppers the Red Devils and runners-up North Macedonia.

Victories over Liechtenstein and their rivals in November would secure their place in the qualification play-offs, but they are all but guaranteed of making those, thanks to a productive Nations League performance, should they fail to finish as their group runners-up.

Given his present position, the Wales manager, whose agreement expires after the European Championship, would be unavailable until following the play-offs at the minimum.
