The co-creator of Call of Duty, the mind behind the immensely successful video game Call of Duty, has tragically died in a car accident in California aged 55.

His passing was confirmed by Electronic Arts, which owns Respawn Entertainment, a game studio that he helped create.

The celebrated industry figure passed away following his automobile collided and was engulfed in flames on a motorway in the Los Angeles area on Sunday, as reported by.

"This is a devastating loss, and our deepest sympathies go to Vince's family, those closest to him, and the countless individuals inspired by his legacy," a spokesperson for Electronic Arts stated.
