Two Men Face Charges Regarding Heathrow Alleged Pepper Spray Incident
Two individuals are now facing charges related to a suitcase robbery where a suspected capsaicin spray caused injuries at the major London air hub.
Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, have both been charged with two robbery charges and two counts of deploying a toxic agent, authorities have stated.
The charges follow an probe of an attack at the parking structure at Heathrow's Terminal Three on the weekend. Before the assault occurred, two women were robbed of their luggage stolen after getting out of a car park lift, according to law enforcement.
A young child was among those injured during the incident. Several persons went to hospital for treatment and were eventually allowed to go home.
The incident – which authorities stated was not part of a series and deemed non-terroristic – resulted in disruptions to rail services and the temporary blocking of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking area for a short time.
